Welcome to the Alligrove. Where nature is preserved and design is celebrated.
Fascinated with 3D printing, architect and designer Cuyler began experimenting with Shapeways in 2015, a marketplace for artisans to design, upload and sell 3D printed designs. On a snowy day in Brooklyn, Cuyler discovered a series of nature-inspired 3D scans and conceived the idea to print them in brass, silver and gold. Katy, a PR and marketing professional, recognized its potential and spent a sleepless night envisioning how to expand the line of 3D printed accessories and home goods.
Together they lined hundreds of post-it notes on their dining room table with names for the collection. The "Alligrove" kept resurfacing, representing so much more than the inaugural alligator skull cufflinks. Both University of Florida graduates, they spent most of their life on the water, Cuyler fishing the mangroves on the Gulf Coast; Katy from the quiet Panhandle of Florida. It's why they made the decision to finally bid farewell to New York City and return home to a simpler life and more time outdoors.
They now reside in Tampa, Florida, where Cuyler is a designer with Alfonso Architects and Katy works remotely from her PR agency in New York. When they aren't working on their day jobs (or designing for Alligrove), you can find them on their vintage Angler, the "By U Too."
